Over the years I have made many crosses among the over 2,500 Echinopsis/Trichocereus hybrids in my collection. Over time I will offer the plants for sale. However, this means waiting until each plant blossoms for the first time to determine if the blossom is unique. Then, I must wait until the plant produces pups that I can then grow and sell.
I am now offering the opportunity for you to participate in this process.
I have a lot of extra seed and seedlings from these crosses. Most of them are between Echinopsis and Trichocereus plants as I am trying to increase the size of the new blossom (Trichocereus) and color (Echinopsis). In some circles, these are called “Multi-hybrids”. The value to the collector is to be the first person to see what the new blossom looks like, with the option to name the plant if the blossom is special. Since both the father plant and the mother plant of these crosses are themselves hybrids, there should be a lot of variation in the individual blossoms from each cross.
Seeds. For those of you who would like to have more plants for your money, I offer seeds from my crosses. Echinopsis to Echinopsis crosses 30 seeds or Echinopsis to Trichocereus and reverse, Trichocereus to Trichocereus 30 seeds for $3. Actual shipping costs will be billed separately. Contact me for a list of available seeds: grbuie@bellsouth.net. By the way, I normally use the “baggy method” to raise the seed. I will include instructions for this method with each order. Minimum order 5 plants.
Seedlings. I also offer a large variety of young plants or rooted pups for those not wanting to spend the time waiting for seeds to grow into a blossoming size. Note: these plants have not blossomed yet, meaning you will be the first to see the blossom and name the plant.
For those interested, contact me for a list of the available small plants or pups (grbuie@bellsouth.net). I will sell each for $3. Actual shipping costs will be billed separately. Shipping to the US only.
